SSH Connections and Fingerprints
Connect safely to a Hostnot GPU instance from Linux, macOS, or Windows.
Prerequisites
Add your public SSH key in the account workspace and wait for the instance to expose its assigned port and fingerprint. Keep the private key local.
Linux and macOS
chmod 600 ~/.ssh/hostnotgpu
+ssh -p <PORT> -i ~/.ssh/hostnotgpu root@gpu.hostnotgpu.aeWindows OpenSSH
ssh -p <PORT> -i $env:USERPROFILE\.ssh\hostnotgpu root@gpu.hostnotgpu.aePowerShell OpenSSH uses the same host and allocated port. Do not publish the actual port or private key.
Verify the first connection
The workspace displays the host key fingerprint observed through the SSH path. Compare the ED25519 SHA256 fingerprint before accepting a new host. A changed fingerprint is a security warning; stop and contact support.
Common failures
- Permission denied: confirm the selected private key matches the uploaded public key and that the instance is ready.
- Connection refused: confirm the instance is running and use the current assigned port.
- Host key warning: do not bypass verification; investigate the change first.
